The English word "spirit" comes from the Latin "spiritus", which means breath, as well as soul, courage and vitality.
These are the 3 pillars of our ecological leadership experiences:
The nonphysical part of a person that is the seat of emotions and character; the soul.
Breathing is the spirit that energizes our bodies and connects us to our environment. The foundation for an extraordinary life is created by developing present moment awareness of your breathing. With your breath you can go beyond your mind's dualistic thinking, which enables you to heighten your awareness and enjoy a fuller range of your immediate sensory experience.
The first step on our adventures is to learn about the breath and how to use conscious breathing practices to clear the mind and train our present moment awareness. We teach a practice called Sensory Immersion Meditation to feel your breath in your body and use it to anchor yourself in the "felt presence" of your immediate experience.
Conscious breathing is the most powerful tool we have for quieting compulsive thinking of the mind that disconnects us from our environment through habitually judging, labeling and comparing ourselves and our experiences. We teach you how to add conscious breathing breaks throughout your day to develop the habit of presence and heightened sensory awareness in your daily life.
When you train your mind to apply full attention to your immediate experience, you can experience deeper embodiment in your sensory awareness. This way you can approach the world with more a what Zen calls a "beginner's mind". This allows you to experience the beauty and complexity of nature with a childlike sense of awe and wonder.
A transformational search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something meaningful.
In our modern societies, we have mostly lost our initiation rituals that had connected us to nature and our ancestors while providing a foundation for building the self-awareness we need to serve our communities as creative leaders.
To recapture the power of initiation rites, our adventures are based around a transformative storytelling process based on Joseph Campbell's Hero's Quest archetypal myth. We empower you to follow your call to adventure by overcoming your inner resistance. Understanding the power of mythology is a key tool to develop your ability of service for others in your community as a leader, a mentor and a guide.
The Hero's Quest is considered an archetypal story because we have heard it our entire lives in the religious stories of prophets like Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Krishna and Moses. You will also find this archetypal myth behind the struggles of the heroes who find guidance toward a higher purpose in Hollywood's most successful blockbusters such as Avatar, The Matrix and Star Wars.
This ritual quest serves as a guide for you to connect your passion to a higher purpose allowing you to have a bigger impact in your community. Do you want to learn how to overcome mental obstacles with meditation and flow psychology? Join us on this adventure and become a more confident and inspiring leader.
An exciting or very unusual experience that involves danger and expanding your comfort zone.
We have become so domesticated living and working in artificial environments that make us feel stagnant and disconnected. The antidote is to spend more time completely unplugged and immersed in nature. This way we can counter the destructive effects of chronic stress and sedentary living.
We believe that learning should be an adventure where we follow our curiosity and have fun. Nature is the ideal classroom to develop your ecological awareness and gain a deeper appreciation for all that Mother Nature provides us by studying the plants, trees, animals, birds and fungi thriving in the ecosystems around us.
Our mission is to empower you to find your passion within nature and become an ecological leader in your community and local ecosystem.
In a Buddhist legend, they say that being born as a human is a chance of less than one in a billion and therefore to be born in a human form is to be extremely fortunate. Our responsibility to this miracle of life is to protect our biosphere. Let's become catalysts for creating a more sustainable and balanced world for the generations to come.
